This is a pivotal opportunity to influence the UKHO’s strategic direction, drive customer excellence, and build new commercial opportunities in a sector undergoing rapid digital transformation.

About the role

As our Chief Customer Officer, you will:

  • Champion our defence customers and sustain healthy returns from our ADMIRALTY merchant shipping market, while opening adjacent markets and unlocking the value of our data assets.
  • Provide inspirational leadership, nurturing a culture of trust, innovation, creativity, and diversity of thought across your teams and the wider organisation.
  • Deliver sales revenue and margin targets, ensuring ADMIRALTY products remain trusted and competitive in the digital era.
  • Be the UKHO’s ‘Customer Champion’, embedding a customer-first approach across everything we do.

About you

We’re seeking a proven senior leader with:

  • A strong track record in sales, marketing, digital service delivery, or business development.
  • Experience operating in digital-first organisations, fostering customer-centric cultures, and promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • A commercial mindset, able to deliver ambitious growth through innovative products and services.
  • The ability to lead change in organisations undergoing digital transformation.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, building trust and credibility at all levels.

Why join us?

At the UKHO, you’ll be part of a team shaping the future of navigation and marine data worldwide. We value innovation, collaboration, and personal development. Our hybrid working model supports flexibility, and our inclusive culture ensures every voice is heard.

This is more than just a leadership role, it’s a chance to make a global impact, ensuring our products and services continue to guide mariners safely while advancing the UKHO’s role as a world-class data provider.
