Salary: c. £90,000

 

ZSL is a leading international conservation charity driven by science and dedicated to restoring wildlife in the UK and globally. Through our research, fieldwork and our iconic zoos (London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo) we inspire millions to protect nature. As we approach our 200th anniversary in 2026, we are elevating our scientific leadership, scaling our conservation impact, and placing digital innovation at the heart of our future.

 

We are now seeking a bold, forward-thinking Head of Digital, Data, & Technology to lead this transformation. This is a rare opportunity to build a modern, integrated digital ecosystem for one of the world’s most respected conservation organisations, strengthening infrastructure, improving user experience, and unlocking data to drive impact, operational efficiency and public engagement.

 

We are looking for an leader who can define and deliver a digital, data, and technology strategy that accelerates organisational performance and enhances ZSL’s conservation storytelling. From modernising systems and embedding digital capability to leading cyber security, governance, and analytics, our next Head will ensure digital tools become a strategic enabler across the organisation. Working closely with senior leaders, this individual will help shape a culture where innovation, collaboration, and impact thrive.

 

We are particularly interested in those who can bring substantial experience in digital, data or technology leadership, a strong track record of enterprise transformation, and deep knowledge of data ecosystems, governance, and cyber security. As our next Head of Digital, Data, and Technology, you will be an inspiring, confident people leader able to build capability and influence at senior levels across a complex, muti-layered, b2c organisation.
