Senior Director - Flatware

Our Client, a leading global manufacturer of tabletop, is seeking a Senior Director of Flatware to join their team. This role plays a pivotal part of leadership across the organization working cross functionally with multiple teams to lead and scale one of the key categories. This position develops and maintains relationships with great number of retailers, sales members and sales agents, which affects the overall reputation of the company, requiring maturity, sound judgment, integrity, and cultural sensitivity. In addition, the position directly supervises 2 Product Managers. This position is critical to the operation of programs generating sales currently estimated at $100 million.



Hybrid work schedule - 3 days a week onsite required


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the product development lifecycle from concept through sku rationalization for the entire flatware category
  • Own P&L and develop business plans to present to upper management Present line to buyers and negotiate cost structures
  • Perform market research and work cross functionally to develop retailer-specific programs
  • Understanding market trends and retail price points Lead product oversight including development, design and costing
  • Set merchandising strategies that align with retail partner goals
  • Direct the in-house Design team in developing cohesive collections
  • Customize assortment for each retailer based on shopper behavior and sales history
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Lead and mentor team
  • Develop, implement, and manage the short- and long-term product strategy that aligns with the company's long-range plans.
  • Will need to be deeply involved in the day-to-day operations
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft D365 ERP sysytem


Qualifications and Key Competencies:

  • 7-10 + years' experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role, preferably in Tabletop or Housewares
  • Strong track record managing high volume multi-channel retail accounts
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong merchant background with success in building and delivering product assortments
  • Ability to develop good, better, best strategies across multiple brands
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • High integrity, accountability and ability to inspire teams
  • Data driven decision maker with a focus on measurable outcomes
  • Strong excel and retail math a must
  • Bachelor's Degree required
