A venture-backed startup building decentralized AI infrastructure is looking for a Developer Relations Engineer to lead technical advocacy and community engagement. With support from leading investors in crypto and AI, this company is reimagining how AI models and agents are built, deployed, and governed across open networks.

As the first DevRel hire, you’ll play a key role in building the global developer ecosystem—leading workshops, creating content, supporting users, and being the public-facing voice of the platform across AI and blockchain communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Evangelism – Represent the platform at conferences, meetups, hackathons, and online events. Share knowledge through talks, workshops, and demos.
  • Developer Onboarding & Support – Own the developer journey from discovery to adoption. Provide hands-on technical support and guidance.
  • Content Creation – Produce blog posts, video tutorials, sample projects, and documentation that help developers build faster and smarter.
  • Community Building – Grow and engage with developers across Discord, GitHub, X/Twitter, and forums. Foster a helpful and inclusive dev community.
  • Product Feedback Loop – Collect developer insights and relay them to product and engineering teams to improve the platform experience.
  • Partnerships & Influencer Engagement – Collaborate with open-source contributors, influencers, and thought leaders to drive adoption.
  • Event Participation – Attend AI houses, crypto gatherings, and global dev summits to build relationships and expand the network.
  • Performance Tracking – Monitor engagement metrics, community health, and campaign effectiveness to iterate and improve strategy.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, ML/AI development, or data science
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts
  • Prior experience in DevRel, developer advocacy, or technical community leadership
  • Familiarity with AI model training, agent workflows, or open-source AI tools
  • Proven ability to build engaged technical communities both online and offline
  • Self-starter mindset with experience launching initiatives from scratch
  • Comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-paced startup environment

Bonus Points:

  • Experience contributing to open-source AI communities (e.g. LangChain, ComfyUI, SD-webUI)
  • Strong presence in AI and crypto dev circles (e.g. Twitter, Discord, GitHub)
  • Connections to AI or crypto houses, especially in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Academic background in ML/AI or related technical fields
  • Exposure to decentralized infrastructure or blockchain ecosystems
