Location & Work Model:
This is an on-site role in South Moravia. Our client's offices are 25km south of Brno.
About the role:
The Senior Accountant manages the accounting function. The role ensures accurate and timely financial processing, maintaining efficiency,
integrity, and compliance with internal controls. Supporting the Finance manager, the direct report, the accountant oversees supplier invoices, expenses, accounts receivable,
and reconciliations while ensuring deadlines and reporting accuracy are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Processing & Reporting:
- Ensure accurate journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliation of financial statements with subledgers and other data sources,
- such as inventory and fixed assets.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure reporting accuracy and ledger integrity.
- Manage month-end financial reporting using ERP systems like D365, MTECH, and Navision, ensuring compliance with internal deadlines and
- financial reporting standards.
- Support financial administration tasks, including capital expenditures (CapEx) and other business-related financial processes.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Management:
- Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with internal control procedures, approval hierarchies, and tax
- regulations.
- Monitor vendor payment schedules to ensure timely settlements and adherence to agreed-upon terms.
- Maintain vendor records, including tax compliance, categorisation, payment terms, and reconciliation with vendor statements.
- Post customer payments following defined application protocols, manage bank deposits, and update the weekly accounts receivable trial balance.
- Escalate past-due accounts when necessary to minimise collection delinquencies and support effective cash flow management.
- Compliance & Process Improvement:
- Ensure that all financial transactions comply with internal controls, documented procedures, and tax regulations.
- Adhere to month-end cut-off processes and deadlines to maintain financial accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, enhance efficiency in accounting procedures, and support the implementation of stronger
- financial controls.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is required
- You hold 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance.
- Experience in leading accounting topics in international environment
- You speak Czech and English fluently.
Preferred Qualifications:
A recognised accounting designation like ACCA (or in progress) is highly regarded by our client.
Experience with IFRS rules is also an interesting asset to have.
On top for Czech and English, additional language skills in French or Spanish would be an asset.
