The Fabrication Project Manager Position

The Fabrication Project Manager role provides the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the business and financial side of construction, along with a plethora of field experience working on unique and complex projects. The position manages subcontracted fabrication work for Midwest Steel and sister company Indiana Bridge, working closely with Division Managers, designers, customers, and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities include supporting and managing early phases such as design coordination, pricing, value engineering, review of shop drawings, and fabrication planning to ensure successful project execution.

 

The Fabrication Project Manager will travel to fabrication facilities nationwide as needed. When not traveling the role will have the ability to work remotely.

 

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the Fabrication Project Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or Civil Engineering
  • Work experience in the engineering and/or construction industry, preferably in the steel fabrication or structural steel industry
  • Past experience in a steel fabrication shop
  • Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals
