Vale Group, a nationwide specialized recruitment firm, has partnered with a company based in North Carolina / South Carolina, who is actively searching for an experienced Traveling Superintendent to work onsite for an opportunity paying $50.00–$60.00 per hour plus per diem, based on experience. This role supports traveling project work across North and South Carolina and is ideal for a senior field leader with strong commercial plumbing supervision experience on complex construction sites. The position requires a hands-on superintendent capable of managing crews, driving project schedules, maintaining strict safety standards, and leading work on large-scale healthcare and hospital-related projects.
Requirements of the Traveling Superintendent:
● 10+ years of commercial plumbing field experience, including prior Foreman or similar leadership experience
● Experience leading crews of 20 or more employees on large and complex commercial construction projects
● Strong background overseeing commercial and industrial plumbing installations and field operations
● OSHA 30 certification required; daily JHAs and strong jobsite safety leadership experience are essential
● Experience supporting healthcare, hospital, or similarly complex institutional construction projects strongly preferred
● Ability to manage 4-week look-ahead schedules, daily reporting, timecards, and project documentation
● County Journeyman card or state license preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
● Strong working knowledge of drawings, specifications, submittals, building codes, and company-issued field technology
Responsibilities of the Traveling Superintendent:
● Lead and supervise plumbing crews across assigned traveling projects in North and South Carolina
● Oversee installation of commercial plumbing systems while ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule
● Manage project planning through daily coordination, weekly goals, and 4-week look-ahead scheduling
● Review drawings, specifications, and field conditions to determine manpower, materials, sequencing, and work priorities
● Complete daily reports, JHAs, safety documentation, timecards, and progress updates using company technology
● Coordinate with management, customers, trade partners, vendors, and fabrication/warehouse teams to support project execution
● Train and mentor field personnel while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety expectations
● Support as needed
