Vale Group, a nationwide specialized recruitment firm, has partnered with a company near Valencia, CA, who is actively searching for an experienced Director of Manufacturing & Engineering to work onsite for an opportunity paying up to 154K annually (salaried), based on experience - plus an 8-10% discretionary annual bonus. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end manufacturing operations within a regulated aerospace environment, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional alignment across production, engineering, and quality functions. The ideal candidate brings deep FAA-regulated manufacturing experience, strong people leadership, and a proven ability to drive performance, cost control, and continuous improvement.
Requirements of the Director of Manufacturing & Engineering:
● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a closely related discipline
● 15+ years of experience within OEM or FAA PMA aerospace manufacturing environments
● Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or management capacity overseeing teams and operations
● Strong working knowledge of FAA regulatory frameworks, aerospace quality systems, and safety compliance
● Prior hands-on experience performing inspection activities in regulated manufacturing settings
● Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams
● Advanced problem-solving, root cause analysis, and operational troubleshooting capabilities
● Effective written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
● Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, and materials processing
● Familiarity with FAA designees such as DMIR, DAR, DER, or ODA is preferred
Responsibilities of the Director of Manufacturing & Engineering:
● Provide strategic and operational leadership over manufacturing activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved
● Establish and execute manufacturing strategies that improve productivity, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
● Oversee engineering, quality, and production leadership to ensure organizational continuity and alignment
● Manage engineering schedules, project milestones, and cross-functional deliverables
● Review and approve technical documentation, engineering reports, and manufacturing drawings for feasibility and compliance
● Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support on-time delivery and operational planning
● Participate in hiring, performance management, training initiatives, and workforce development
● Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence efforts as needed
