Position Summary

BoujieMana is a full-service restaurant in central San Diego serving both the surrounding neighborhood and the internal TCWGlobal community. The restaurant offers an elevated, yet approachable dining experience focused on quality and hospitality.

The space includes a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating, a private VIP room, and a training and event center for up to 120 guests. BoujieMana serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner using high-quality ingredients at a higher-end price point while remaining accessible.

With strong evening and weekend traffic and convenient parking, BoujieMana operates as both a neighborhood destination and an event-driven hospitality space. We are searching for a diligent Host/Hostess to assist and support our entire staff at BoujieMana. The Host/Hostess is part of the Reception Team and manages the flow of guests dining or lounging at BoujieMana. This team is vitally important to our success, as you are the very first welcome and impression of BoujieMana. The hosts will assist management in facilitating the flow of service in the restaurant, while creating an impressionable atmosphere for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary

• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of BoujieMana

• Welcome guests to the venue

• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists

• Manage reservations

• Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas

• Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress’s name

• Greet customers upon their departure

• Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options

• Maintain a clean reception area

• Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly)

• Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries

• Assists wait staff as needed

• Taking over the phone TO-GO Orders
• Handling of cash when needed
• Checking and restocking baths
• Cleaning Dirty Mirrors
• Cleaning Menus
• Wiping down tables when needed
• Sweeping the floor in the dining room

Tools and Technology

• OpenTable
• Cash registers, POS terminals and software, and workstations
• Software - web-based applications, etc.

Qualifications & Skills

• Work experience as a Hostess / Greeter or other entry-level role in a restaurant is a plus
• Valid Food Handler’s Card
• Understanding of restaurant etiquette.
• Experience in managing reservations.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good Physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
• A passion for customer service and working in the restaurant industry
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong verbal communication abilities and phone etiquette
• Positive attitude and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility when working alternating shifts
