Position Summary

BoujieMana is a full-service restaurant in central San Diego serving both the surrounding neighborhood and the internal TCWGlobal community. The restaurant offers an elevated, yet approachable dining experience focused on quality and hospitality.

 

The space includes a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating, a private VIP room, and a training and event center for up to 120 guests. BoujieMana serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner using high-quality ingredients at a higher-end price point while remaining accessible.

We are searching for a diligent Server Assistant/Busser to assist and support our serving staff at BoujieMana. Upon arrival, this individual will serve guests bread, butter, and water—providing refills as needed. This role supports other restaurant staff by cleaning dishes, clearing and setting tables, stocking supplies and helping guests. They work in a fast-paced culinary environment to clean and reset tables and make sure that flatware and plates are readily available. As customer service workers, they are responsible for ensuring that guests’ needs are either met or brought to the attention of wait staff and management. They will help guarantee that restaurant supplies and equipment are clean and maintained. To ensure success as a server assistant, you should be highly organized and have a keen eye for detail. A skilled server assistant should be good with their hands, highly efficient, and be able to provide a great level of customer service.



Key Responsibilities:


Primary

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Boujiemana
  • Set tables with clean linens, condiments, and other supplies
  • Clear tables after guests; wipe tables or seats with dampened cloths and replace dirty tablecloths
  • Promptly clean tabletops, chairs, booths, and the floor under and around the tables between guests
  • Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests and complaints, communicating these to the server as needed
  • Scrape and stack dirty dishes and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchen for cleaning
  • Take soiled tableware to the designated area to unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, and glassware for cleaning
  • Perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties to facilitate customer service
  • Carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from kitchens or supply areas to serving counters
  • Clean up spilled food, drink or broken dishes and remove trash
  • Serve food to guests when servers need assistance
  • Promptly greet guests as they are seated and serve ice water, coffee, rolls, or butter to guests
  • Thank guests as they leave
  • Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays
  • Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas or other areas of the restaurant
  • Mop or vacuum floors
  • Fill beverage and/or ice dispensers
  • Stock cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers
  • Communicate with server and host/hostess to expedite efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service
  • Inspect assigned restroom every hour and clean as needed
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
  • Coordinate with, and assist, fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant
  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations
  • Carry linens to or from laundry areas

 

Tools and Technology

  • Cash registers, POS terminals and software, and workstations
  • Software - web-based applications, etc.
  • Carbonated and non-carbonated beverage dispenser
  • Commercial use blenders, coffee or iced tea makers, cutlery, dishwashers, food processors, food warmers, microwave ovens, garbage disposals
  • Ice dispensers
  • Soft serve machines



Qualifications & Skills

  • Work experience as a Busser, Food Runner or other entry-level role in a restaurant is a plus
  • Valid Food Handler’s Card
  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for customer service and working in the restaurant industry
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong verbal communication abilities
