Director of Ingredients Channel
Apply for this job

We are seeking a hands-on, commercially driven Director – Ingredients Channel to build and scale its industrial and production-line business segment.

This is a builder role. The Director will be personally responsible for generating new ingredient accounts while developing a structured and repeatable go-to-market model for the channel.

This is not a team management role at inception. The expectation is that this individual will roll up their sleeves, prospect, open accounts, and help us institutionalize the ingredients vertical.

Core Mandate

• Generate 3–5M in new annual business once fully ramped

• Build and manage a disciplined prospecting funnel

• Establish our brands as a credible technical-commercial partner in the ingredients space

• Help define the long-term structure of the ingredients channel

Key Responsibilities

1. New Business Generation

• Identify, target, and secure new industrial and production-line ingredient accounts

• Leverage existing industry network to accelerate funnel development

• Engage directly and/or through broker relationships to open new opportunities

• Lead full-cycle prospecting efforts from initial outreach to commercial close

• Deliver measurable revenue growth aligned with defined performance targets

This role is accountable for tangible results.

2. Technical-Commercial Engagement

• Engage R&D, procurement, operations, and production stakeholders

• Translate customer production-line needs into viable ingredient solutions

• Partner internally with our food engineering, innovation, and manufacturing teams

• Support product trials, testing, and commercialization processes

• Serve as the commercial bridge between technical teams and customers

This role must balance commercial drive with technical fluency.

3. Process Development & Funnel Discipline

• Develop structured prospecting frameworks

• Build measurable pipeline visibility and conversion tracking

• Define qualification stages and activity expectations

• Institutionalize repeatable ingredients go-to-market discipline

The Director will help professionalize the channel, not just sell within it.

4. Strategic Contribution

• Advise leadership on long-term ingredients channel structure

• Provide realistic input on cycle times, conversion rates, and ramp expectations

• Help determine future hiring needs as the channel scales

Required Experience

• 10+ years of experience in ingredients, industrial food manufacturing, or specialty ingredient sales

• Demonstrated track record of opening new production-line accounts

• Experience selling into R&D, engineering, procurement, and plant leadership

• Comfort operating in longer sales cycles with customized solutions

• Proven ability to operate independently in a build-phase environment

Competencies

• Commercial hunter mentality with documented results

• High urgency and activity orientation

• Strong technical-commercial credibility

• Comfortable operating with performance-based compensation

• Entrepreneurial mindset with appetite for upside
