Role Summary
The Senior Manager of People is a hands-on leader responsible for recruiting, HR operations, and culture as we continue to grow. This is the company’s first dedicated People leader and is best suited for an operator who enjoys building systems, supporting leaders, and creating a strong employee experience from the ground up.
This role is highly execution-oriented and best suited for an HR generalist with sufficient horsepower to build scalable systems from the ground up. The focus is on creating structure, consistency, and engagement across recruiting, onboarding, internal communication, and performance processes as the organization grows.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Partner with hiring managers to define roles, interview plans, and hiring priorities
- Own recruiting process execution, candidate pipelines, and interview coordination
- Ensure a strong, consistent candidate experience
- Track hiring metrics and continuously improve recruiting effectiveness Standardize recruiting processes and candidate evaluation frameworks across departments
- Own onboarding cadence including pre-start communication and 30/60/90-day check-ins
HR Operations & Compliance
- Manage HR systems, records, and core processes
- Oversee onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and employee documentation
- Maintain employee policies and handbook in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Build scalable SOPs for hiring, performance feedback, and employee development
- Support performance review frameworks and manager coaching conversations
- Assist leadership with employee relations discussions and policy implementation
Culture, Engagement & Development
- Champion company culture and employee engagement initiatives
- Own internal communication rhythm including company updates and engagement touchpoints
- Gather and analyze employee feedback to improve the employee experience
- Support managers with basic performance management and development tools
Qualifications
- 5+ years of HR generalist experience including recruiting, employee relations, and HR operations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in a growing or entrepreneurial environment
- Proficiency with HR systems (Gusto, Rippling, BambooHR, Greenhouse, or similar
