Senior Electrical & Automation Technician

Compensation: $35 – $45 per hour

Job Type: Full-time | 12-hour rotating schedule & night shift openings

Seeking a Senior Electrical Automation Technician to drive automation solutions and maintain electrical control systems at a fast-paced manufacturing facility in Kinston, North Carolina.

Responsibilities:

  • Decode complex electrical schematics and user manuals to troubleshoot and maintain cutting-edge equipment.
  • Solve automation and robotics software issues using advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Resolve PLC and touchscreen hardware challenges to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Support network troubleshooting and control networking issues to keep systems connected and reliable.
  • Collaborate with IT to maintain and troubleshoot servers for uninterrupted operations.
  • Identify and drive automation improvements to elevate process speed, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Consult with management and engineering teams on innovative projects.
  • Create user manuals and training materials to support team development.
  • Mentor and provide hands-on training to maintenance technicians.
  • Manage electrical and automation documentation, including programs, schematics, and network files.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or technical school with 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Allen Bradley/Rockwell automation experience required.
  • Programming experience including RS Logix 5000 required.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, safety rules, technical procedures, and regulatory documents.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present information to all levels including management.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
