Job Description: The Emergency Nurse Manager will oversee two Emergency Departments, ensuring uncompromising quality, patient safety, and an outstanding patient/family experience. Responsibilities include staff development, resource allocation, interdisciplinary collaboration, recruitment, and supervision of the Emergency Department, Hospital Clinical Leaders, and Medic 55 ALS Program.

Required Skills:

• Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program, Masters in Nursing or related field.
• Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
• Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire. CPI certification within 90 days of hire. TNCC required within 18 months of hire.
• 3-4 years experience as an RN and at least 18 months RN experience in an Emergency Department. Moderate sedation competency within six months of hire.
• Knowledge of management systems and processes. with the ability to establish effective work relationship while maintaining analytical skills for departmental needs assessment.

Preferred Skills:

• Certified Emergency Nursing within one year.
• 1 year management/leadership experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Meditech.
• Familiarity with The Joint Commission requirements.
• Management and ability to work under pressure.
