Senior Insights Strategist

The Senior Insights Strategist is a client-facing expert responsible for turning complex media, reputation, and stakeholder data into actionable insights that shape C‑suite decision-making for Fortune 500 communications leaders. This role is approximately 70% insights strategy and data storytelling and 30% technical skill and analytics, with a mandate to deliver proactive, business-aligned guidance that elevates clients’ communications performance and reputation outcomes.

You will lead high-impact reputational analyses, competitive benchmarking, and whitespace exploration while leveraging advanced analytics capabilities to connect communications activity to business results. Partnering closely with Insights & Analytics, Reporting, and Client Success teams, you will set the bar for insight quality, clarity, and actionability across recurring and strategic client engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Insights & Data Storytelling

  • Lead the end-to-end development of strategic insights for key clients, including reputational assessments, narrative intelligence, issue and risk deep-dives, competitive benchmarking, and opportunity/whitespace identification.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior client stakeholders, translating data into clear narratives, recommendations, and decision options that align with their business and communications priorities.
  • Own the insight storyline for recurring reports, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Strategic Partnership engagements, ensuring each deliverable tells a coherent, executive-ready narrative.
  • Proactively surface 2–3 high-value insight “moments” per client per quarter (e.g., emerging risks, narrative shifts, stakeholder inflection points) that anticipate needs rather than react to requests.
  • Integrate media, reputation, and stakeholder signals with broader business indicators such as financial performance, regulatory developments, employee sentiment, and market dynamics
  • Guide the framing of measurement strategies and KPIs for clients, helping them evolve from activity-based to outcome-oriented communications metrics.
  • Present insights with confidence and clarity to senior and C-suite audiences, adjusting content and framing to match varying levels of data literacy and strategic sophistication.

Analytics Development & Execution

  • Collaborate with analytics and reporting teams to scope, interpret, and refine analyses that power client-facing insights, including descriptive and inferential analytics, segmentation, and trend identification.
  • Leverage tools such as Tableau, SQL, and Python (or similar) to perform exploratory data analysis, validate hypotheses, and stress-test key findings before they reach the client.
  • Contribute to the design and evolution of derived metrics and indices (e.g., reputation scores, CEO indices, narrative momentum measures) that support more sophisticated insight narratives.
  • Partner with technical and operational teams to ensure data is clean, normalized, and integrated across platforms, enabling consistent and reliable insight generation.
  • Help define and refine templates, visual standards, and storytelling frameworks that make complex analytics intuitive for non-technical executives.

Quality, Process, & Delivery Excellence

  • Ensure all insight deliverables are on time, error-free, brand-consistent, and aligned with internal design and data visualization best practices.
  • Maintain rigorous data hygiene and documentation practices so that analyses are transparent, reproducible, and easily leveraged by cross-functional partners.
  • Work closely with Reporting teams to streamline handoffs, clarify briefs, and reduce friction in the production of recurring and ad hoc reports.
  • Continuously refine internal processes, frameworks, and checklists that raise the floor and ceiling for insight quality, speed, and scalability.
  • Flag risks early and communicate proactively when scope, timing, or data constraints could impact deliverable quality or client expectations.

 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Media Analysis, Analytics, Reporting, Client Success, and Data Visualization teams to orchestrate cohesive client experiences and unified narratives.
  • Act as a key escalation point for insight-related questions, interpretive challenges, and cross-team dependencies on high-stakes client initiatives.
  • Contribute to training and upskilling teammates on insight frameworks, storytelling techniques, and best practices in communications measurement.
  • Share learnings and patterns across portfolios to inform product enhancements, new methodologies, and thought leadership content.

Thought Leadership & Innovation

  • Stay current on communications, media analytics, and reputation management trends, as well as emerging methodologies in narrative and stakeholder analysis.
  • Pilot and advocate for new approaches that expand how clients understand audiences, narratives, and outcomes (e.g., narrative networks, stakeholder segmentation models, or advanced sentiment frameworks).
  • Contribute to the development of playbooks, case studies, and frameworks that position the company as an insights leader in the market.

Qualifications:

  • 7–10 years of experience in insights, communications strategy, media analytics, or related fields, with proven exposure to enterprise or high-stakes stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success translating complex datasets into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations for senior or C-suite audiences.
  • Strong understanding of media and communications measurement, including reputation tracking, narrative analysis, and campaign performance evaluation.
  • Comfort with analytics and data tools (e.g., Tableau, SQL, Python or R, Excel) and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical experts.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adapt tone and depth for different audiences and contexts.
  • Proven experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously with high standards of quality, timeliness, and attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen and executive presence, with the ability to quickly grasp a client’s industry, competitive landscape, and strategic priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in communications, business, data/analytics, or related field is a plus

Why Join?

  • Shape how leading brands understand and manage their reputation and communications performance through data-informed storytelling.
  • Operate at the intersection of strategy and analytics, influencing decisions at the highest levels of client organizations.
  • Collaborate with a talented, cross-functional team in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment that values curiosity, innovation, and excellence.
