Donor Relations & Communications Coordinator
Location: On-site in San Francisco
Compensation: $70,000–$80,000, 100% employer-paid health benefits
The Stone Research Foundation pioneers regenerative orthopaedic treatments to treat, prevent, and cure arthritis. We are seeking a Donor Relations & Communications Coordinator to connect major donors with our mission, build lifelong relationships, and create engaging science communications—bringing our research to life and inspiring support for the next generation of orthopaedic care.

Key Responsibilities:
Relationship Management & Fundraising
● Coordinate major gift donor prospecting, identifying and researching potential major gift opportunities.
● Serve as a key liaison for the organization, building new relationships with patients and donors while sharing the Foundation’s mission and the impact of its research.
● Support planning and execution of donor cultivation events, board meetings, and VIP engagement activities.
● Collaborate with the Executive Director and Communications Director to execute strategic fundraising campaigns and outreach.
Outreach & Communications:
● Create compelling communications materials, assisting in developing print collateral and digital content (email newsletters, social media, website, presentations, etc.).
● Share patient success stories and research milestones that connect emotionally and inspire giving.
● Support all development and communications efforts, ensuring seamless donor cultivation, stewardship, gift solicitation, and recognition.
● Manage social media presence, craft original content and monitor community engagement across platforms.
Operations & Systems:
● Maintain accurate donor records using CRM tools (e.g., iWave, e-Tapestry).
● Track fundraising metrics, manage donor follow-ups, and support development reporting.
Qualifications:
● 3+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or sales (non-profit or mission-driven preferred).
● Charismatic communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills who builds trust, inspires generosity, and forges lasting donor relationships.
● Exceptional communications skills—strong storytelling ability, with experience in digital media, light graphic design, and copywriting.
● Tech savvy— Experience using donor or sales CRMs, social media platforms, and MS Office/Google Suite, etc.
● Ability to work full-time on-site in San Francisco
Compensation & Benefits:
● $70,000–$80,000 salary based on experience.
