Compensation: $150,000 base + commission

About the Role
Our client is hiring a Business Development Principal to focus on sourcing, qualifying, and converting high-net-worth individuals and families into long-term clients. This role includes working across several acquisition channels, including centers of influence, custodian referrals, and marketing-generated leads. The ideal candidate is a seasoned financial services professional with a consultative approach to business development and a deep understanding of the client journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with COI referral partners and financial consultants at custodians
- Convert warm and cold leads into long-term clients through a structured, high-integrity sales process
- Effectively present the firm’s financial planning and investment philosophy to prospective clients
- Execute the defined sales process and consistently meet business development goals
- Collaborate with financial advisors to ensure seamless client onboarding and transition
- Actively contribute to improvements in the BD process and support the growth of the overall team
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of successful experience in advisory or retail investment sales
- Bachelor’s degree required; CFP®, CFA®, or progress toward advanced credentials strongly preferred
- Skilled in consultative sales, with a focus on relationship-building and needs-based solutions
- Strong understanding of financial planning and investment concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems, virtual meeting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel locally for client and partner meetings
