Process Maintenance Supervisor


Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Process Maintenance Supervisor leads, schedules, coordinates and directs daily planned maintenance activities, and oversees a crew of employees in a safe and cost-effective manner, taking into consideration safety and environmental aspects of the operation. Responsibilities also include coordination of outside service work and working closely with the materials management personnel. This is a salaried, exempt position and relocation may be offered.


Essential Functions:

·        Directs the activities of the maintenance team, including defining and delegating work assignments, adhering to all safety and environmental considerations.

·        Ensures all maintenance activities are planned and completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

·        Ensures employees are trained on operating standards, procedures, and methods.

·        Inspects area of responsibility for operating efficiency, safety compliance, environmental management, and housekeeping.

·        Makes sure all employees comply with company policy, procedures, and regulations and implements corrective action, when necessary, under the guidance of Human Resources.

·        Maintains detailed records and up-to-date history for each piece of equipment.

·        Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.

·        Keeps detailed records of all pressure vessel inspections, ground checks, and overhead crane inspections to maintain MSHA compliance.

·        Works closely with materials management personnel to ensure spare parts and critical equipment replacements are on hand or within reach, suggesting correct stock levels as needed.

·        Responsible for coordination of crew safety meetings, reviews and documents employee work performance through performance evaluation program, administers appropriate disciplinary action with input from HR department and investigates all accidents and near miss instances.

·        Collaborates with other departments regarding process activities.

·        Develops the capabilities of the maintenance team to enhance their ability to achieve operating strategies.

·        Operates cutting torches or welding equipment.

·        Reads and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, electrical diagrams.

·        Responsible for managing employee time including timecard entry/submittal, approval of PTO and all other scheduling.

·        Willingness to perform all other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the Company.



Experience and Training:

·        10 years of maintenance work experience in fixed maintenance. Preferred

·        3 years supervisory experience. Required

·        Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively. Required

·        Previous maintenance planning experience. Required
