Superintendent - Commercial, Industrial, and Heavy Civil Construction

Position Summary:
The Superintendent will manage all on-site aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This role involves hands-on problem-solving, oversight of subcontractors, and maintaining safe working conditions. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and the design team, forming a cohesive leadership team to drive project success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and schedule all field resources, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Ensure subcontractor performance meets quality and timeline expectations.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager on the project budget and manage its implementation.
• Identify and resolve on-site project-specific issues, escalating where necessary.
• Inspect work to ensure adherence to specifications and construction schedules.
• Understand and comply with contract requirements, including inspection procedures, claims, and shutdown notifications.
• Develop and maintain a 3-Week Look Ahead schedule to keep projects on track.
• Assist in creating and updating the project construction schedule, with input from subcontractors.
• Supervise foreman and craft personnel, determining methods, labor, materials, and equipment needs.
• Address construction challenges such as productivity and scheduling issues.
• Manage and enforce the on-site safety program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Review approved submittals across trades to confirm contract compliance.
• Oversee project-specific subcontract agreements and supplier purchase orders.
• Handle all project start-up and close-out activities.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ground-up construction and/or rehabilitation projects, with strong civil and mechanical expertise.
• Water/Wastewater treatment experience preferred.
• Proven track record of leading a job-site team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
