Position Overview

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our engineering department and drive the development of our embedded team services alongside senior leadership. Facilitating leadership qualities and defining department vision to elevate our craft as developers and implementing best practices and processes for stewarding excellent and ideal product delivery. This role would also be key to successful discoveries, roadmapping, talent acquisition (developer recruitment), and cross-department collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of customer service, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company's goals and enhance our customer services for our embedded team offering.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee the onboarding, execution, and delivery of embedded teams and help with discoveries to provide engineering requirements..
  • Client Engagement: Collaborate in the sales process to understand project needs and provide insight into engineering requirements to find the right engineering fit for our clients.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies to guide the team in adopting best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and work with leadership to improve processes to enhance efficiency for our embedded teams engagements..


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Director of Engineering or in a similar leadership role within a software development environment.
  • Strong background in software development, with expertise in embedded team (augmented staff) strategies and practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and nurturing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
