Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of supporting schedules, variance analysis, and resolution of accounting issues
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring across a portfolio of commercial assets
  • Prepare financial reporting packages under multiple accounting bases, including GAAP and tax basis reporting
  • Support reporting requests for ownership, lenders, and senior leadership
  • Coordinate with external audit and tax partners during year-end review and audit processes
  • Review operating expenses, capital expenditures, insurance, and real estate tax activity for assigned properties
  • Interpret commercial lease provisions related to tenant recoveries, CAM, taxes, and other pass-through expenses, including preparation of annual tenant reconciliations
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and lease administration processes to ensure operational accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with sales and use tax filings where applicable
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience within commercial real estate, property accounting, or related industry
  • Experience with retail, mixed-use, or commercial property portfolios preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and multiple accounting methodologies
  • Experience working with property management/accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, or similar platforms
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable adapting to new technologies, automation tools, and process improvement initiatives
