Hydraulic Systems Engineer 

East Peoria, IL– Full Time


Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in East Peoria, IL. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be a qualified hydraulic systems engineer with a broad technical background including designing, analyzing, and optimizing hydraulic systems for our test bench products. This role involves creating schematics, selecting components, testing systems for efficiency, providing technical support, and use of CAD tools.


This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization. 


Duties:

  • Design & Development: Create schematics and design hydraulic circuits for machinery.
  • Performance Optimization: Perform hydraulic modeling, calculations, and simulations to optimize pressure, flow, and efficiency.
  • Component Selection: Select, test, and validate pumps, valves, cylinders, and motors.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hydraulic system failures to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, including BOMs (Bill of Materials), schematics, and test reports.
  • Collaboration: Work with electrical controls, manufacturing, and production teams to integrate hydraulic systems.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in hydraulic system design, particularly with testing or industrial equipment with high-pressure fluids.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, closed-loop systems, and proportional control.
  • Analytical ability to troubleshoot and analyze fluid power problems.
  • AutoCAD.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Diverse interests and skill set, with an ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience estimating and quoting projects.
  • Ability to handle onsite support.
  • FMEA and design reviews.
  • Familiarity with code compliance.


Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience.
  • SolidWorks experience.
  • Mechanical and/or structural experience.
  • Experience with PLC programming or electro-hydraulic controls.
