Company Overview:
Our client is a large, industry-leading manufacturing company with a global footprint and a reputation for operational excellence, innovation, and growth. As they continue to scale and optimize operations, they are seeking a seasoned Corporate Controller to lead the accounting function across multiple sites and entities. This highly visible leadership role is critical in ensuring strong financial governance, timely reporting, and cross-functional partnership across the business.
Position Summary:
The Corporate Controller will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, including consolidation, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. This leader will oversee a multi-site team and serve as a key business partner to finance, operations, supply chain, and executive leadership. The ideal candidate brings deep manufacturing experience, a command of cost accounting, and a proven ability to manage scale, complexity, and systems optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation process for multiple domestic and international manufacturing sites
- Own the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements and ensure timely, accurate reporting to executive leadership and stakeholders
- Oversee cost accounting, standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
- Manage a large accounting team across accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and plant controllers
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure SOX compliance (if applicable)
- Partner with operations and supply chain leadership to drive margin improvement and financial accountability across sites
- Lead audit preparation and serve as primary contact for external auditors
- Drive ERP and systems enhancements to improve visibility and automation; experience with SAP or Oracle preferred
- Deliver technical accounting guidance and lead implementation of new accounting standards
- Support FP&A, tax, treasury, and capital project accounting as needed
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, including M&A, integrations, and system implementations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA required
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a large manufacturing environment
- Strong background in cost accounting, inventory, and plant operations
- Experience managing multi-entity consolidations in a global or multi-site enterprise
- Expertise with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent); strong Excel and reporting skills
- Demonstrated success in leading large teams and scaling accounting processes
- High attention to detail, strategic mindset, and excellent cross-functional communication skills
