Position Summary:

The Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing all accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. This role manages the month-end and year-end close, establishes and maintains internal controls, ensures compliance with accounting standards, and supports organizational goals with timely and reliable reporting. The Controller also plays a key role in implementing best practices, driving process improvements, and mentoring the accounting team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Manage the close process and prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Serve as primary contact for external auditors and lead annual audit processes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, policies, and financial procedures.
  • Oversee reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Support reporting and presentations for leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and ensure alignment with business initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting operations.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive process improvements.


Salary Range: $165k - $185k
