Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to lead the administration and oversight of payroll operations and employee benefits programs. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, effective benefits management, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement. The Payroll & Benefits Manager will collaborate closely with Human Resources, Finance, and organizational leadership to support a positive employee experience while maintaining strong internal controls and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full-cycle payroll process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Lead the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, renewals, and ongoing vendor coordination.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll and benefits vendors, managing relationships and resolving escalated issues.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage, tax, and employment laws.
- Review and audit payroll and benefits data to maintain accuracy and integrity.
- Manage reporting requirements related to payroll taxes, year-end processing, retirement plans, and other regulatory filings.
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding payroll matters, benefit options, and policy interpretation.
- Partner with HR and Finance leadership on compensation-related initiatives, system enhancements, and operational improvements.
- Develop and document payroll and benefits procedures, ensuring best practices and internal controls are maintained.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement efficiencies within payroll and benefits operations.
Qualifications:
- Several years of progressive experience in payroll and benefits administration, including leadership or oversight responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and employee benefits compliance standards.
- Experience managing payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Relevant payroll or HR certifications are a plus.
