Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support the organization’s general ledger, financial reporting, and close processes. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records while maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in preparing financial statements, performing complex account analyses, and supporting audit and reporting requirements. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Lead or support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
- Analyze general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and proper classification of transactions.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and related disclosures.
- Perform detailed account analysis and variance explanations.
- Support internal and external reporting requirements, including regulatory or compliance filings as applicable.
- Respond to inquiries regarding financial results and provide supporting analysis to management.
- Assist with annual audit processes by preparing documentation and addressing auditor requests.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced reporting efficiencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Several years of progressive financial accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience working with accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard business applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA or other relevant professional certification preferred.
