Position Overview:
We are seeking a Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to support the accurate and timely administration of payroll and employee benefits. This role plays an important part in ensuring employees are compensated correctly, benefits programs are administered efficiently, and related processes remain compliant with applicable regulations and internal policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling confidential information while partnering closely with Human Resources, Finance, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring proper calculation of wages, deductions, taxes, and adjustments.
- Review and validate time and attendance records, compensation changes, and leave balances.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations.
- Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and year-end activities.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, updates, and terminations.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, timekeeping, and benefits.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external providers to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
- Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and operational best practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience supporting payroll and/or benefits administration in a professional environment.
- Working knowledge of payroll systems and timekeeping platforms.
- Understanding of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and wage and hour compliance standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Experience in multi-state payroll environments is a plus.
- Relevant payroll certifications are a plus.
