Staff Accountant - General Ledger

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support the organization’s general accounting and financial reporting functions. This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, assisting with monthly reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.


The Staff Accountant will contribute to the preparation of financial information, support account reconciliations, and participate in process improvement initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to build technical accounting expertise while working collaboratively within a structured finance environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare journal entries and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, schedules, and account analyses.
  • Review financial transactions for proper classification and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support cost allocation and expense tracking activities as required.
  • Compile financial data to assist in management reporting and analysis.
  • Participate in accounting projects, including process enhancements and system updates.
  • Ensure compliance with established accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and reconciliations.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and increased efficiency within accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support accurate financial reporting.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Early-career accounting experience in financial reporting, general ledger, or related areas.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems and spreadsheet software, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environment.
