Position Overview:

We are seeking a Staff Accountant – Projects & Controls to support accounting initiatives, financial reporting enhancements, and the ongoing maintenance of a strong internal control environment. This role combines core accounting responsibilities with project-based work, focusing on improving processes, supporting system implementations, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.


The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working cross-functionally to strengthen reporting accuracy and operational effectiveness. This position provides the opportunity to build technical accounting expertise while contributing to strategic finance projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support accounting and finance-related projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and reporting enhancements.
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and related account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Evaluate the impact of new initiatives or system changes on financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Help document, update, and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and control frameworks.
  • Ensure financial transactions are recorded in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Analyze account activity and research discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support proper financial data flow and compliance.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of improved reporting tools and automation solutions.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests and support compliance reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control within accounting processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Early-career accounting experience with exposure to financial reporting and general ledger processes.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial compliance requirements.
  • Experience using accounting systems, ERP platforms, or financial reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project coordination abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a structured environment.
