Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support complex accounting transactions, revenue-related activities, and the monthly and quarterly close processes. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, analyzing account activity, and maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls.
The Senior Accountant will partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and other business teams to properly account for high-volume and unique transactions. This position offers exposure to complex contractual arrangements, inventory-related transactions, and evolving business initiatives within a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
- Review and analyze revenue-related agreements and associated financial activity.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Analyze expense activity and ensure proper accruals and reclassifications are recorded.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting of inventory-related and revenue-generating transactions.
- Prepare detailed balance sheet and income statement analyses, including variance explanations for management.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and other key accounts on a periodic basis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Research and apply applicable accounting standards to support proper treatment of transactions.
- Participate in meetings with internal stakeholders to review financial results and address questions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Support audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Several years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to financial reporting and close processes.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience analyzing complex transactions and preparing detailed account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial systems or ERP platforms.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA or CPA-track preferred.
