Overview:
Our client, a global manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to lead key costing activities and support operational and financial decision-making. This role will focus on maintaining cost standards, analyzing variances, and providing strategic insights to improve margin performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cost accounting processes including standard cost development, cost roll-ups, and BOM maintenance
- Analyze and report on manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead, PPV, etc.)
- Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions; ensure accurate valuation and physical inventory results
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities related to COGS and inventory
- Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and finance teams to evaluate product cost trends and drivers
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Identify and implement cost control initiatives and process improvements
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and company policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred)
- 5+ years of cost accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Strong ERP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities
- Solid understanding of inventory management, standard costing, and cost variances
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Salary: $80,000-$115,000
