Our client, a leading law firm with a strong focus on Mergers and Acquisitions, is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Analyst to support our growing M&A practice. This role involves market research, strategic analysis, and client development support to help drive the firm’s business initiatives and strengthen client relationships in the corporate transactional space.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients in the M&A sector.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and the business development team to develop and implement strategic growth plans for the M&A practice.
  • Analyze deal activity and provide insights into target sectors, deal flow, and cross-border opportunities.
  • Track and report on client, prospect, and competitor activity, including league tables, M&A transaction data, and market share analyses.
  • Support client pitches, RFP responses, and business development presentations by preparing tailored marketing materials and credentials.
  • Monitor existing client relationships, track KPIs, and assist with the development of client retention and expansion strategies.
  • Coordinate sponsorships, events, and other initiatives targeted at enhancing the firm’s visibility and reputation in the M&A space.
  • Maintain and update the firm's CRM system and practice-specific marketing collateral.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field; JD or MBA a plus.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a business development, financial research, or marketing role within a law firm, investment bank, or consulting firm.
  • Strong understanding of M&A trends, transaction structures, and deal cycle.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., InterAction), Excel, PowerPoint, and research databases (e.g., PitchBook, Capital IQ, Mergermarket).
