Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manager of Technical Accounting to join our growing finance team. This individual will serve as the go-to expert on complex accounting issues, oversee the implementation of new accounting standards, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies. This role is ideal for a CPA with strong public accounting experience and a passion for solving technical problems and translating guidance into practical application.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, interpret, and document complex accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Draft technical accounting memos and position papers for internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead implementation of new accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 326)
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (legal, operations, FP&A) on deal structuring and new business initiatives
  • Provide technical accounting guidance for M&A activity, equity transactions, and other non-routine events
  • Support external reporting, including 10-K, 10-Q, and other SEC filings as applicable
  • Assist with audit requests and act as a key liaison with external auditors
  • Maintain and update corporate accounting policies and internal controls related to technical areas
  • Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing within the accounting group


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred)
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting standards
  • Strong technical knowledge of areas like revenue recognition, lease accounting, and financial instruments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to distill complex issues
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a public company or fast-paced corporate environment a plus


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and financial reporting tools
  • Exposure to IPO readiness, M&A due diligence, or system implementations



Salary: $110,000-$150,000 plus bonus
