About the Role

The Director of Client Partnerships will lead advertising sales strategy and execution across the company’s email and web platforms. This leader will focus on cultivating new client relationships, expanding into new verticals, and delivering creative, results-driven ad solutions.


The ideal candidate brings deep digital advertising expertise, a strategic approach to building client partnerships, and a passion for growing brands through thoughtful, consultative engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Client Acquisition and Growth:

• Identify, pursue, and onboard new clients across a range of industries and verticals

• Grow the client portfolio through strong relationships and proactive business development

• Shift from transactional sales to strategic, consultative partnerships

• Focus on branding and awareness campaigns with an emphasis on reach, engagement, and long-term growth


Strategy and Execution:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company goals

• Meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets

• Lead negotiations and deal closings for profitable, win-win partnerships

• Collaborate with internal teams to launch innovative ad solutions tailored to client needs


Vertical and Client Diversification:

• Expand into new industries with customized strategies and value-driven messaging

• Prioritize high-growth verticals based on research and market insights

• Diversify the client base and strengthen long-term retention strategies


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with product, editorial, and operations teams to align client offerings with audience needs

• Serve as the client advocate internally to ensure campaign success


Market Research and Reporting:

• Track industry trends, competitive activity, and evolving client needs

• Deliver regular performance updates, forecasts, and insights to leadership

• Recommend adjustments to sales approaches and product offerings based on market feedback


Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in digital advertising sales, media, or a related field

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline

• Proven track record of driving ad revenue and expanding client relationships

• Expertise in programmatic, direct, and branded content solutions

• Strong ability to cultivate consultative, upper-funnel partnerships

• Existing network of client and agency relationships

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills

• Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

• Experience in prospecting and sourcing new leads

• Proficiency with CRM systems and sales analytics tools

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a keen eye for identifying new opportunities
