Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer to join their team in a newly established, physician-led health and wellness clinic located in the beautiful area of Gillette, Wyoming. Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Cardiac/Medical Sonographer will perform a wide range of echocardiography procedures within the clinic. This role requires extensive knowledge of cardiovascular principles, ultrasound technology, and the ability to produce and analyze cardiac ultrasound images that assist physicians in making accurate medical diagnoses. The sonographer will work closely with physicians, staff, patients, and their families, ensuring a compassionate and professional environment. The ideal candidate will have certifications in both general and vascular studies or be willing to train in these areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct echocardiography procedures and evaluate cardiac ultrasound images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to determine the most appropriate care plan for each patient.
  • Provide patient education and communicate findings to the physician.
  • Maintain and manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following safety protocols and maintaining equipment.
  • Participate in quality control activities and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
  • Adapt care plans based on individual patient needs and ensure adherence to clinic protocols and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties related to general or vascular studies, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s Degree in Applied Science.
  • Certifications:
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Certification in RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) or RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist).
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a sonographer.
  • Preferred experience in stress echocardiography and pediatric cardiac sonography.
  • General diagnostic medical or vascular experience is a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in operating sonographic equipment and making independent judgments during examinations.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety and infection control protocols.
  • Ability to adhere to federal, state, and local laws, as well as clinic policies and ethical standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform heavy work, including exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly, 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Possible exposure to radiation and infectious materials, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols.
  • Ability to work 8 to 12-hour shifts as required.
