Our client, a community health organization located in the scenic Berkshires of Western Massachusetts (approximately 2.5 hours from both Boston and New York City), is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Practice Physician to join their thriving family medicine practice.

As one of over 1,300 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in the United States, our client plays a vital and expanding role in the region's healthcare. The FQHC model provides access to a broad range of professional and financial resources, enhancing the quality of care offered.

Reports to: Chief Medical Officer

Position Overview:

This full-time physician position involves joining a committed team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, ongoing care to patients. Responsibilities include routine and emergency office-based care, as well as supporting health promotion and preventive medical care. Our client offers an excellent starting salary, commensurate with experience, and highly competitive benefits. The physician in this role will contribute to a collaborative, caring, and innovative work environment, supporting the mission, vision, and values of our client. Adherence to compliance protocols and organizational policies and procedures is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive, ongoing care to patients, including health history documentation, comprehensive physical assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and healthcare management.
  • Prescribe medications within the area of specialty, perform and interpret laboratory procedures, provide case management services, and participate in group, community, and individual patient education.
  • Take part in the on-call physician group.
  • Engage in patient care audits to ensure quality assurance and utilization reviews, maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Participate in continuing education to uphold medical professional standards and may provide administrative input, such as performance reviews and hiring decisions.

Education/Experience:

  • Completion of academic requirements from an accredited medical school is required.
  • Experience with electronic medical records is necessary.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision to professional and allied healthcare staff, as well as residents involved in patient care.

Skills/Knowledge/Competencies:

  • Ability to interact with others tactfully and diplomatically, showing respect and consideration regardless of status or position.
  • Contribute positively to team spirit, balancing team and individual responsibilities, while displaying professionalism and ethics.
  • Effectively manage patient needs and difficult situations, fostering trust and respect; actively seek feedback for improvement.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities, working well under pressure, completing tasks with minimal supervision, and providing additional coverage when necessary.
  • Competent in leading and instructing others, delegating tasks effectively.
  • Communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings; respond well to questions and complete administrative duties accurately and on time.
  • Solve practical problems, interpret various instructions, and maintain punctuality and reliability.
  • Spanish-speaking/bilingual abilities are a plus.
