The Production Assistant role exists to support the safe, accurate and efficient flow of goods through the Swedish production operation. The role is responsible for receiving material and produce Items in our local machine park, in line with Essentra’s procedures, quality standards and customer service expectations.
The role is part of the permanent production team in Mölndal and supports the daily operation by ensuring that orders are handled on time, products are protected from damage, stock accuracy is maintained and production activities are performed safely and efficiently.
Typical Responsibilities
- Operate production equipment such as flatbed cutter, vinyl cutter, wrapping machines and packing equipment where trained and authorised
- Receive, check and put away incoming goods in accordance with production procedures
- Perform quality, quantity and assortment checks on produced goods
- Operate production systems, machines and related IT tools to ensure accurate stock movements and order processing
- Machine maintenance, assure functionality and operation safety
- Prepare and handle production documentation, labels and packaging
- Load, unload and move goods safely using appropriate warehouse equipment
- Participate in inventory counts, cycle counts and stock accuracy activities
- Support special packing, repacking and customer-specific handling requirements where needed
- Maintain cleanliness, order and safe working conditions in the production in line with 5S, HSE and company procedures
- Cooperate with Customer Service, Supply Chain and other internal teams to support efficient daily operations
- Follow all applicable health, safety, quality and production procedures
- Identify and report deviations, damage, stock issues, safety risks or process improvement opportunities
Required Skills & Experience:
- Upper secondary school education or equivalent practical work experience
- Previous experience in a production environment
- Ability to work accurately with order details, product numbers, quantities and documentation
- Basic IT skills and ability to use production systems, scanners and digital tools
- Good understanding of workplace safety and safe material handling
- Reliable, structured and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Able to handle physical production work, including lifting, standing and moving goods during the working day
- Swedish language skills sufficient for daily work, safety instructions and internal communication
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience with ERP or production management systems. We use Microsoft D365 & Office
- Experience with customer-specific packing, repacking or industrial components
- Experience with cycle counting or inventory control
- Basic English language skills
- Experience working in a lean, 5S or continuous improvement environment
- Forklift licence / truckkort A+B
- Good understanding of production processes such as previous work with flatbed cutters or vinyl cutters
- 2D/3D CAD experience (basic)
- Training in production operations
- HSE training
