Reid Supply, an Essentra company, is immediately hiring for an experienced Product Manager to join our Product Management team based in Norton Shores, MI. The Product Manager is responsible for overseeing the department on all aspects of the product life cycle including new product selection and existing product maintenance, product and vendor program negotiation, product data management and pricing, item group and category marketing, promotion and overall go to market strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement product strategies consistent with company vision
• Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products
• Work with senior management to create product plans and roadmaps
• Lead product managers and coordinate cross-functional teams
• Assist in the development of marketing strategies, pricing, and forecasts
• Produce and review product requirements documents (PRD)
• Collaborate with Purchasing Team in developing effective vendor relations, analysis and negotiation
• Provide product expertise and training to other departments on all assigned products for all levels of Company
• Initiate customer contact to gather, educate and help build marketing programs that meet Customer needs, increase sales and provide a better understanding of the market
• Develop and implement annual business plans for assigned product categories, including detailed growth initiatives and exit strategies
• Track product initiatives to determine success to forecasted goals and recommend corrective actions for underperforming initiatives
• Communicate new part additions and changes to Support Coordinator in order to properly maintain ERP and STEP databases
• Develop strategic pricing guidelines for assigned product lines to empower customer service, sales, and Rapid Response team to provide the fastest answer to customers
• Make creative recommendations to expand product base and vision
• Suggest ways to track product use and impact on end users

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Proven experience as a Product Manager within distribution/industrial or related field
• Hands-on experience with applications of technical products
• Ability to analyze market and product dynamics
• Excellent problem solving skills in technical engineering applications
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to negotiate with vendors
• Comprehend sometimes-complex verbal instructions, orders, conversations, etc., as well as industry specific information
• High level of computer literacy, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, Word, Excel, as well as standard office equipment and tools
• Read, understand and apply all related SOP’s that support the position and department as well as all SOP’s that the position is responsible for training
