We are seeking a Navy ERP SME preferably located in the DC area, however open to candidates outside of the area. In this role, you will be the authoritative voice on the U.S. Navy’s enterprise-resource-planning ecosystem—currently SAP ECC 6.0 and moving toward S/4HANA. You will translate complex functional and technical requirements into actionable solutions that optimize financial transparency, supply-chain effectiveness, and audit readiness across NAVSUP, NAVSEA, NAVWAR, and fleet users worldwide. Working closely with program managers, developers, logisticians, and comptrollers, you will help to guide and consult on the full system lifecycle—from capability roadmap through configuration, data conversion, testing, cut-over, and sustainment—while ensuring alignment with DoD policy, DON CIO directives, and Fleet operational imperatives.
This position is remote, however there will be travel requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise Flag-level and SES stakeholders on Navy ERP architecture, release strategy, and S/4HANA migration pathways, producing white papers and decision briefs.
- Lead functional solution design across FI/CO, WM, SD, PS, and Funds Management, translating PPBE and Navy Working Capital Fund (NWCF) requirements into SAP configuration.
- Oversee data-conversion strategy (legacy staging, cleansing, and load) and validate results through mock conversions and reconciliation reports.
- Direct end-to-end testing—unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance—ensuring traceability to requirements and zero Category 1 defects at go-live.
- Coordinate interface and middleware integration (PI/PO, IDoc, ALE, EDI) with external systems such as SABRS, ADVANA, GCSS-MC, and One Touch Support.
- Develop and maintain solution documentation (BDOCs, BPDs, functional specs) in accordance with SAP Activate and Navy configuration-management policies.
- Provide mentorship and expert troubleshooting to functional analysts and ABAP/PI developers on break/fix tickets, enhancements, and FM/SD fiscal-year close.
- Support audit-readiness and FIAR initiatives, mapping SAP transaction controls to FISCAM and NIST controls, and remediating Notice of Findings & Recommendations (NFRs).
- Deliver executive-level training and change-management sessions that drive user adoption and minimize mission disruption during major releases and sustainment packs

- Demonstrated leadership on data-migration, interface design, and cut-over for DON or other DoD ERP programs.
- Proven ability to brief and influence SES/Flag-level leadership and translate strategy into executable plans.
