Company: Our Client — Managed Services Provider, NYC Metro

Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 base + full benefits

Job Location: Northern NJ (hybrid: NYC office 2–3 days/week + remote/on-site in NJ)

Role Summary

Our client is a well-established Managed Services Provider with decades of experience supporting small and mid-sized businesses across the NY Metro area. They are known for their low turnover, collaborative culture, and strong commitment to both customer and employee satisfaction. As their client base in Northern New Jersey continues to grow, they are adding a Level 1/2 MSP Technician to their team.

In this role, you will be the primary technical resource for a portfolio of managed services clients. You will split your time between working remotely, visiting client sites in Northern New Jersey, and spending two to three days per week in the NYC office with the broader team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated IT professional who wants variety in their day-to-day work, direct client exposure, and a clear path to grow into Level 2 and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • You will provide remote and on-site Level 1/2 support to managed services clients throughout Northern New Jersey
  • You will troubleshoot and resolve issues across Windows environments, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and network infrastructure
  • You will monitor RMM alerts, manage your ticket queue in ConnectWise, and document every incident clearly and completely
  • You will configure and support firewalls, switches, and wireless equipment including Cisco, Meraki, and SonicWALL devices
  • You will contribute to infrastructure projects including server deployments, workstation rollouts, and cloud migrations
  • You will maintain a knowledge base of resolutions, configurations, and tips that supports the broader team

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience at an MSP, IT Services company, or in a similar helpdesk/field technician role
  • Working knowledge of Windows desktop and server OS, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration: Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Intune
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking equipment (Cisco, Meraki, SonicWALL, or HP managed switches)
  • Hands-on experience with an RMM platform (N-Able, LabTech, or similar) and ConnectWise or equivalent PSA
  • Located in Northern NJ; must be able to commute to NYC 2–3 days per week and travel to client sites in NJ
