The Senior HRBP position is crucial in driving strategic initiatives to attract, develop, and retain top talent. The HRBP serves as a trusted advisor to business leaders and will be responsible for designing and implementing programs that enhance employee performance, engagement, and growth. This role requires an HR professional who is proactive, innovative, and skilled in building relationships, forming partnerships, and seeking to develop integrated solutions in all areas of Human Resources. This includes talent acquisition, talent management, training & development, workforce planning, change management, internal communication, total rewards, policies & procedures, compliance, and employee relations.


Key Areas of Responsibilities & Duties:

Talent Management

  • Partner with leadership to assess talent needs, identify skills gaps, and develop succession plans.
  • Lead initiatives for talent assessment, high-potential development, and career pathing across various functions.
  • Oversee the performance management process, including goal-setting, feedback, and annual reviews.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on delivering constructive feedback and managing performance.
  • Implement tools and resources to enhance the feedback culture and ongoing performance management.


Training & Development

  • In partnership with department heads, identify, develop, and deliver learning and development programs.
  • Manage external training vendors and resources to complement internal programs effectively.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to leaders on effective people management.
  • Use data analytics to track and measure the effectiveness of talent management and development initiatives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on metrics such as retention, engagement, and performance.


Talent Acquisition

  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for recruiting talent in the mining industry.
  • Collaborate with the HR Manager and the management team to forecast and develop plans for key staffing initiatives.
  • Provide a high level of service and expertise in recruiting leadership-level roles, including implementing onboarding processes and conducting the on-site induction program.


Employee Relations

  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR-related policies and procedures.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Partner with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Supervise and provide direction to the HR Coordinator.
  • Participate in various HR projects.
  • Partner with teams to schedule, plan, and execute company events.


Required Skills:

  • General knowledge and understanding of federal and state regulations and employment practices.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and Learning Management Systems (LMS) systems, specifically Workday.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and related systems required.
  • Strong consulting and advisory skills to influence leaders and employees.
  • Strong facilitation skills and experience delivering leadership courses. Certifications in Everything DiSC and Crucial Conversations are a plus.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and a focus on results.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and safety standards relevant to the mining industry.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the unique challenges of a dynamic work environment.


Required Experience:

  • 7+ years of previous experience working in human resources.
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources or business or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR) are a plus.
  • Previous mine experience is a plus.
