Senior Manager, Fixed Assets

District Partners is partnering with a global data and analytics organization to identify a Senior Manager of Technical Accounting. This is a highly visible leadership role within a complex, multinational, public-company environment, offering the opportunity to own key technical accounting areas and drive process improvements at scale.


This role will serve as a technical accounting leader and subject matter expert, with oversight of critical areas including internally developed software, fixed assets, and lease accounting. The position will also manage and mentor a team, while partnering cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee accounting for internally developed software, including capitalization, cost tracking, and lifecycle management
  • Lead fixed asset accounting, including capitalization policies, depreciation, and asset tracking
  • Own lease accounting (ASC 842), including classification, remeasurements, and ongoing reporting
  • Review contracts and agreements to assess accounting implications, including embedded leases
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, IT, Procurement, Legal, and Facilities to ensure accurate and complete accounting treatment
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for areas of responsibility
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, and flux analyses
  • Support preparation and review of financial statement disclosures
  • Act as a key liaison for external audits
  • Strengthen and maintain SOX/internal controls (ICFR)
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements, including ERP and subledger integrations
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals


What You'll Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA required
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or a large, multinational organization
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly in software capitalization (ASC 350-40), fixed assets (ASC 360), and lease accounting (ASC 842)
  • Experience in a public-company environment or supporting public-company clients
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring or managing team members
  • Experience with ERP and consolidation systems (e.g., SAP, OneStream, or similar)
  • Familiarity with lease accounting tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
