Role: Full-Stack Product Engineer, Deepfake Detection

Location: Mountain View, CA (In-Office)

Salary/Compensation: $200k – $280k base + equity

Our client is a frontier AI company building ethical AI infrastructure for voice generation and deepfake detection. Backed by $23M from strategic investors including Google, Sony, Okta, and In-Q-Tel (CIA), they serve government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and law enforcement. Their mission is to ensure trust and authenticity in the generative AI era.

With dual capabilities in AI voice generation and detection, they hold a defensible position in an emerging category with no established standards. Major public deployments are planned for 2026, making this a critical moment for category-defining product leadership.

Position Overview:

The Full-Stack Product Engineer will own deepfake detection product features end-to-end, while also supporting complex enterprise deployments. Reporting to senior engineering leadership, this role blends product engineering, infrastructure problem-solving, and direct customer engagement.

This is a hands-on, zero-to-one role operating at the intersection of product, ML systems, and real-world customer environments. You will build user-facing product features while deploying and supporting ML systems in high-stakes, regulated contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own deepfake detection product features from requirements through production
  • Build UI, APIs, workflows, and operational tooling using Python and React
  • Partner with ML engineers to productize detection models
  • Deploy and support ML systems in on-prem enterprise environments
  • Debug production issues across Linux, Kubernetes, and Docker
  • Support API and SDK integrations with enterprise customers
  • Work directly with customer technical teams across telecom, banking, and government use cases
  • Use GenAI tools to accelerate coding, troubleshooting, documentation, and release notes
  • Act as a key contributor to sprint planning and ongoing execution

Qualifications:

You likely fit if you:

  • Have 5+ years of senior-level software engineering experience
  • Are strong in Python and React (can build from a blank slate)
  • Have deep Linux, Kubernetes, and Docker expertise
  • Have experience supporting customer-facing technical deployments
  • Can take vague requirements and ship production features independently
  • Use GenAI tools daily in your engineering workflow
  • Thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous startup environments
  • Are comfortable working with regulated or government customers
  • Can commit to 4 days onsite in Mountain View starting Q1 2026

This role is not for you if:

  • You avoid customer-facing engineering work
  • You rely on established playbooks and rigid processes
  • You do not actively use GenAI tools
  • You require a fully remote role
  • You are uncomfortable with government or law enforcement environments

What they offer:

  • Salary/Compensation: $200k – $280k base + equity
  • Competitive compensation with meaningful ownership
  • Direct collaboration with senior technical leadership
  • Hands-on role defining product and infrastructure standards in a new AI security category
  • Clear growth path toward Engineering Team Lead and Engineering Manager roles
