Position Overview:
As a Service Advisor / Writer in our automotive service department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service and efficient operations. With your extensive knowledge of automotive systems and tire sales, combined with excellent communication skills, you will be responsible for overseeing the service team, managing customer interactions, and coordinating service processes to guarantee a seamless and satisfying experience for our clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Listen to customers' concerns, inquiries, and service requests, including tire-related issues.
- Communicate complex technical and tire-related information to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
Service Coordination:
- Schedule and coordinate service appointments, balancing workload for the service team.
- Ensure timely completion of customer vehicles, adhering to promised delivery times.
- Collaborate with technicians to identify and address additional service and tire needs.
Technical Expertise:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of automotive systems, tire repairs, tire maintenance, and tire replacement procedures.
- Provide expert advice on necessary repairs, tire replacements, and maintenance based on vehicle diagnostics and tire wear assessments.
- Stay informed about industry trends, including advancements in tire technology.
Tire Sales and Knowledge:
- Offer professional guidance to customers on selecting the right tires based on their vehicle type, driving habits, and budget.
- Stay up-to-date with various tire brands, types (e.g., all-season, winter, performance), and promotions.
- Identify opportunities for tire sales and effectively upsell tires and related services, such as alignments, rotations, and balancing.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate the service team to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Provide guidance and training to junior service advisors, including tire-related knowledge.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Customer Satisfaction:
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution, particularly in tire-related inquiries.
- Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Monitor and maintain customer feedback systems to identify areas for improvement.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date service and tire-related records.
- Generate and explain service estimates to customers, including tire pricing and promotions.
- Manage service-related paperwork efficiently.
Sales Support:
- Identify opportunities for upselling additional services or products, especially in tire-related areas.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide information on vehicle maintenance plans, including tire warranties and promotions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of [5] years of experience as a Service Advisor in the automotive industry with tire sales and service knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Leadership experience in a service department is preferred.
- Proficiency in using automotive service software and computer applications.
- Tire sales experience is highly desirable.
- ASE certification or equivalent is a plus.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Additional education or training in automotive technology or tire expertise is desirable.
