Odyssey’s Shared Services division provides centralized 4PL and Managed Transportation expertise to streamline logistics for enterprise clients. Our team partners with industrial and chemical shippers to deliver scalable, cost-optimized supply chain solutions across modes, powered by advanced TMS capabilities and deep logistics expertise.


We are expanding our commercial team to capture market growth and build strong, strategic partnerships with customers across the Midwest region.


Schedule:

This is a full-time, remote position requiring travel to client sites and industry events.


Location:

Remote role with a preference for candidates based in or near:

Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; Milwaukee, WI; Minneapolis, MN; St. Louis, MO; or Kansas City, MO.



About the Job:

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving new business growth by acquiring enterprise clients and expanding opportunities within strategic accounts. This role focuses on identifying, developing, and closing opportunities for 4PL and Managed Transportation solutions across diverse industries. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Sales Manager leverages deep logistics expertise to cross-sell Odyssey’s multi-modal services and value-added solutions while consistently achieving assigned revenue targets.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Achieve net revenue goals through new client acquisition and expansion of enterprise accounts.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan targeting industrial and chemical shippers.
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline across Odyssey’s logistics services portfolio.
  • Apply a consultative sales approach to understand client challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Clearly articulate Odyssey’s value proposition in cost optimization, multi-modal solutions, and supply chain visibility.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with executives and economic buyers across complex buying committees.
  • Lead the sales process from outreach through proposal, negotiation, and closing.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership to structure competitive offers.
  • Leverage industry insights and Odyssey’s solution portfolio to proactively identify opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and pipeline in Salesforce CRM.
  • Drive urgency and ownership in progressing opportunities and resolving client issues.
  • Partner with internal teams (Operations, IT, Pricing) to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Support strategic initiatives and other projects aligned with company goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of proven success selling Managed Transportation / 4PL solutions to enterprise clients.
  • 5+ years of multi-modal experience (TL, LTL, Partial Truckload, Tank Truck, Expedited).
  • 5+ years of Transportation Management System (TMS) experience for planning, execution, and optimization.
  • Expertise in solution selling and cross-selling within large, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong “hunter” mindset with a record of exceeding sales targets.
  • Skilled in financial modeling, ROI-based proposals, and complex contract negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with executive presence for C-suite engagement.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, PowerPoint, Excel, and related tools.
  • Strong analytical, business acumen, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

Desired:

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Experience selling logistics solutions to industrial and chemical shippers.
  • Deep knowledge of competitive 4PL and Managed Transportation offerings in the market.
