Patient Billing Assistant
This client and patient-facing role will support the Virtual Billing Specialist - Patient Portion. The role requires interaction with internal and external audiences; attention to detail; strong communication and client relations skills; and a general understanding of the dental billing process with particular attention to patient billing.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
• Making outbound calls to patients to collect balances due, with particular focus on Spanish-speaking patients
• Training NOS representatives working the Patient Help Desk to ensure consistency with outbound calls.
• Assisting with the preparation and distribution of patient statements and other collections activities.
• Attending internal and external meetings and documenting meeting agendas and recaps.
• Serving as a back-up to the Virtual Billing Specialist.
• Other duties as required per business needs.
Requirements:
• General knowledge of MS Office Suite and practice management software
• Bilingual skills (Spanish/English)
• Experience working in a patient help desk capacity
Preferences:
• At least two (2) years of recent dental billing experience
• Experience in Cloud9, Carestack and/or Dentrix Ascend
• Knowledge of orthodontic billing payment cycles
• Experience with patient payment arrangements
