Traveling Project Engineer, Mission Critical

We are seeking a Traveling Project Engineer to support large mission critical and data center construction projects across the United States. This is a permanent position designed for someone who wants long term exposure to complex mechanical construction and a clear path toward Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting mechanical, process piping, plumbing, HVAC, or broader MEP construction and must be genuinely comfortable with a long term project travel schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and field leaders with daily project execution and coordination
• Manage RFIs, submittals, drawing logs, document control, meeting minutes, and project correspondence
• Review construction drawings, specifications, equipment requirements, and technical documentation
• Coordinate mechanical, process piping, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, controls, and commissioning activities
• Track procurement, equipment deliveries, material status, change documentation, and project schedules
• Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, general contractors, design teams, and field personnel
• Assist with cost tracking, forecasting, closeout documentation, and quality control
• Support startup, testing, commissioning, turnover, and project closeout

Qualifications

• Experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar construction project support role
• Mechanical contractor, process piping, plumbing, HVAC, or MEP construction experience strongly preferred
• Mission critical or data center project experience preferred
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and coordination documents
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, document control, trade coordination, and project reporting
• Proficiency with common construction management and Microsoft Office platforms
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem solving skills
• Ability and willingness to maintain a long term national travel schedule

The initial assignment is expected to be in Kentucky, with future rotations to additional projects throughout the country.
