POSITION OBJECTIVE

Dunn Building Company is seeking a Project Manager to support and grow its Gulf Coast operations, based out of the Mobile, Alabama office. This role is critical to maintaining execution excellence as the Gulf Coast office continues to experience significant project volume and complexity.


The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing assigned projects from preconstruction handoff through closeout, with full accountability for job cost control, scheduling, financial reporting, and client relationships. This role partners closely with estimating, business development, and field leadership to ensure projects are delivered profitably and in alignment with Dunn’s core values.


This is a high-visibility role with a clear path for advancement into senior leadership for a self-starter who demonstrates ownership, financial discipline, and a desire to build long-term client relationships.


POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Execution & Financial Accountability

  • Manage assigned projects with full responsibility for cost control, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project
  • Lead project planning, subcontractor coordination, and execution strategy
  • Ensure adherence to Dunn standards for safety, quality, and documentation

Preconstruction & Estimating Alignment

  • Participate in estimate reviews prior to project award to ensure buy-in and execution clarity
  • Coordinate closely with estimating during preconstruction and handoff

Client & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary client contact and owner’s representative throughout the project lifecycle
  • Cultivate repeat business through proactive communication and accountability
  • Represent Dunn professionally in community, industry, and client-facing settings

Internal Collaboration & Leadership

  • Coordinate with the General Superintendent on manpower, self-perform resources, and scheduling needs
  • Partner with the Gulf Coast Business Development Manager to support seller-doer efforts
  • Report project status and performance to the Area Manager 


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • 5–10 years of project management experience in general contracting or design-build environments
  • Experience delivering projects involving concrete, steel, and pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB)
  • Design-build delivery experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related discipline preferred (engineering, building science, construction management)
  • Strong job cost control, forecasting, and scheduling discipline
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and construction management systems
  • Strong communication, accountability, and relationship-building skills
  • Humble, hungry, smart leadership style
  • Self-starter with a strong ownership mentality
  • Comfortable with financial accountability and performance-driven metrics
  • Desire to grow into senior leadership and management roles
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven construction environment
