Los Angeles - Drayage Sales Executive

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new drayage business opportunities within the Los Angeles/Southern California market.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with importers, exporters, NVOCCs, freight forwarders, 3PLs, and asset-based trucking partners.
  • Conduct consultative sales conversations to understand customer requirements and present customized solutions.
  • Collaborate with operations and dispatch teams to ensure service capabilities align with customer commitments.
  • Prepare proposals, pricing models, and RFP responses for drayage and related services.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of port operations, steamship line requirements, container availability, chassis market conditions, and regulatory updates.
  • Track sales activity and maintain accurate CRM records.
  • Monitor customer performance, address service issues, and support high retention rates.
  • Attend industry networking events, port functions, and customer site visits as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of proven sales experience in drayage, intermodal, port logistics, or container transportation.
  • Established relationships within the Southern California import/export community strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of port operations, container flows, cut-offs, free time, and demurrage/detention.
  • Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer-relationship skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a pipeline, and drive results in a competitive market.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated, solutions-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced logistics environment.
