Working Model: On-site in Drogheda

Reporting to: Branch Manager

About the Hiring Company

Our client is a trusted name in the Irish equipment hire industry, with a strong network and a reputation for excellent service. Their Drogheda branch is growing, and they’re now looking for a reliable and capable Sales Hire Controller to support both the hire desk and commercial shop side of the business.

About the Role

As Sales Hire Controller, you’ll be a key part of the front-of-house and back office teams, helping customers with their hire and sales needs, managing orders, and supporting the smooth running of the branch.

You’ll work with tools, machinery, and plant equipment, liaising with customers both at the counter and over the phone. You'll also coordinate with transport and workshop teams to make sure everything runs like clockwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle hire and sales enquiries from customers — in person and over the phone
  • Prepare quotes and hire contracts using internal systems
  • Source equipment from third parties if needed to meet customer demand
  • Coordinate with drivers and workshop teams to ensure smooth logistics and delivery
  • Maintain up-to-date records in the CRM and hiring system
  • Ensure product knowledge is kept current (powered access, plant, tools etc.)
  • Support the shop/commercial side of the business as needed
  • Deliver excellent customer service and build strong relationships
  • Process payments and general admin tasks to keep operations on track

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced sales or hire environment — ideally from the plant/tool hire sector, but we’re also open to candidates from construction supply or builders’ merchants.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Confidence working with systems and admin tasks
  • A working knowledge of plant, tools, machinery, or safety equipment
  • Good organisation and attention to detail
  • A team player attitude and a willingness to learn

Benefits & Package

  • Base salary: Up to €40,000 (depending on experience)
  • Performance bonus: Up to 10–15% annually
  • Working week: Monday to Friday (no weekends)
  • On-site role: Drogheda branch
